Chapter 1 (1-16)

George throws mouse into the forest and Lennie goes into the woods to find it CG
George tells Lennie not to say anything when they go to the ranch NB
George and Lennie are off to another ranch after Lennie did something that got them rejected from the previous ranch. They want to own a ranch and be able to do what ever they want under no one's orders. JStafford

Chapter 2 (17-37)

George and Lennie arrived at the ranch and met their new boss.MG
George and Lennie got to meet most of the men that they will be working with.AG
George and Lennie meet the mean son of their new boss. He seem's to have a grucge against Lennie for no reason.NSJ
George and Lennie meet Curly's wife. The book doesn't tell us her name yet, but she is a very flirtatious character. KEH

Curley- thin young man with a brown face, with brown eyes and a head of tightly curled hair. KD
Slim- a tall man with long black hair and an ageless hatchet face. He wore blue jeans, denim jacket and has a Stetson hat. He was very kind to George and Lennie. EL
Candy- helps George and Lennie get settled in their room. He is old, and so is his dog that goes around with him. He also tells George and Lennie about some of the people on the ranch, like Curley, Curley's wife, and the boss. JM

The door opened and Lennie and Carlson came in together. Lennie crep to his bunk snd sat down, trying not to attract attention to himself. Carlson reached ubder his bunk and brought out a bag. He didn't look at old Candy, who still faced the wall. Carlson found a little cleaning rod and a can of oil. He laid them on his bed and then brought out his pistol, took out the magazine adn snapped the loaded shell from the chamber. Then he fell to cleaning the barrel with his little rod. When the ejector snapped, Candy turned over and looked for a moment at the gun before he turned back to the wall again. (pg. 53) FD
"After a moment, the ancient dog walked lamely in through the open door. He gazed about with mild half blind eyes. He sniffed, and then lay down and put his head between his paws. Curley popped into the doorway again and stood looking into the room. The dog raised his head, but when Curley jerked out, the grizzeld head sanked to the floor again." B4, pg. 37, FD

The bunk house is in bad condition and is probably not being cleaned and maintained daily. KM
The beds are made out of poorly made straw mattresses and they probably have lice and roaches and other stuff like that. C.S.
The bunk house is small and poorly crafted and it has a large wooden door with a latch that moves every time someone opens the door. TJ

Chapter 3 (38-65)

Slim and George seem to be getting along well, although Slim is someone who is looked up to as a leader, he appreciates George's conversation.CS |
Lennie-He really loves his white and brown dog and he likes to examine all the dogs, by taking them out of there nest in the barn. Evm
Carlson-Carlson Shot Canys old dog with a pistol. He wanted to put it out of its missory. CG
Slim- is very happy to give away him puppy to lennie and Candy because he said that he was going to drown them anyway. NB

"Carl's right, Candy. That dog ain't no good to himself. I wisht somebody'd shoot me if I got old an' a cripple". pg45. JS
"If you want me to, I'll put the old devil out of his misery right now and get it over with. Ain't nothing left for him. Can't eat, can't see, can't even walk without hurtin'." (pg. 47) MR

George Lennie and everyone in the bunkhouse is in there and then Curly comes in and piicks a fight with Lennie. Lennie's face gets scratched, but Curley's hand is crushed. LA
The barnyard, where all the puppies are and where Lenny spends most of his time because the puppies are there. Also the tar is in there for tarring the hoffs of the horses when they get injuried. SA
There was light outside but none inside. Slim and George come inside and start taking. THen George said that Lennie will have a hrad time sleeping.Their were tight bunks and, also Lennei wants to sleep with the puppys. MLB

Chapter 4 (66-83)

Lennie went to see his puppy and ended up talking to Crooks. Then Candy came in to talk and Curley's Wife eventually came in. She started yelling at Crooks and interrogating Lennie and Candy until they started to yell at her to leave. She threatened them until George and the gang came back. TM
Crooks was very angry when Lennie had come into his room because he wasn't able to play cards with the white men (segregation). Since Lennie was white, Crooks wanted his revenge, so he had an attitude towards Lennie. JS(Jabari Stafford)
The people at the ranch gave Lennie a dog to adopt and he was very happy to own a pet. JS(Jabari Stafford)
Curley's wife suspects Lennie hurt Curley. MC
Candy and Lennie try to convince Crooks about the ranch. RG
Candy starts getting tired of the way he's treated and lashes out at Curley's wife. SL

Chapter 5 (84-98)
|
Curley's wife snuck up on Lennie in the barn and he told her he liked soft things. She then tells him how soft her hair is and he starts to stroke it. She scares him and he can't let go so she starts to yell for help. Lennie is afraid that he will get in trouble and not be allowed to tend to the rabbits so he claps his hand over her mouth. He can still hear her screaming so he accidentally snaps her neck. TM
Curly wants to kill Lennie because Lennie killed his wife. George lies about where he thinks Lennie will go.

In chapter five Curley’s wife’s sneaks up on Lennie. They talk for a while and then Lennie tells her that he loves soft things. She tells him how her hair is soft and she lets him stroke it. Curley's wife's hair is so soft that Lennie can’t control himself. When she screams for him to let go Lennie makes her quite by pretty much strangling her. After already killing his puppy earlier that day he then breaks Curley’s wife's neck and kills her! The chapter ends in a state of panic for each and every character. Lennie runs away in fear of not being able to tend the rabbits anymore and of George being upset. RG (Rachael Garnick)

Curly's wife is lonely because Curly won't let her talk to the others. She really just wants someone to talk to, because all Curly talks about is beating up the others.

The barn--which comes in handy after Lennie kills curley's wife, because Lennie just covers her body with hay.
