Sonnet Homework:

For your assigned sonnet:

1. Copy your sonnet BY HAND onto a piece of paper
   1. Write the rhyme scheme in the margins
   2. Add where the logical breaks come in the poem
   3. Scan the poem for meter
2. You should attach a typed analysis of the paper
   1. Explain IN YOUR OWN words the meaning of the poem (especially as a logical progression)
   2. Describe some of the literary techniques Shakespeare uses inside the poem
      1. Metrical substitutions to emphasize words and phrases
      2. Metaphors
      3. Word choice
3. Memorize your sonnet and recite it in front of the class
